italyCosa: UNIOR’s Third Graduate Conference per giovani ricercatori, dottorandi e post-doc.

Quando e dove: Napoli, 19-20 ottobre 2017

Deadline: 21 maggio 2017

LYING SPEECH
  • Sociolinguistics, pragmatics and semantics of lying
  • The ‘sounds’ of lies
  • Syntax of lying
  • Lyingin comparative linguistics
  • Linguistic manipulation: lies in political, colonial, identity and gender discourses.
TEXTS AND CONTEXTS OF LIES
  • Matters of textual criticism: embellishments and manipulations of copyists/scribes, author variations, compulsive and deliberate corrections
  • Original literary forms: copy, re-writes, copyrights, imitation, volunteer plagiarism, parody, censorship and omissions
  • Literary translation: author vs. publisher
  • Ambiguity of the concept of authenticity: false attribution of authorship, anonymous works, relationship between fiction and truth in narratives, self-narratives
  • Text and ‘Power’: concealment and (self)censorship in hegemonic narratives, ‘State Art’.

“ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE”

  • Creation/Dissimulation of the self: masks, negotiations, social roles, gender identity and race, everyday  performance, ritualized behaviours
  • Creation/Dissimulation of common sense: manipulation of information (mass/social media, fake news), ideological disseminations, myth of ‘total transparency’, social rituals
  • Creations/Artistic dissimulations: representation and disorientation in the dynamic and audio-visual arts, patronage, art schools

Come proporsi: inviate l’abstract di 300 parole (più bibliografia e titolo) a graduateconf2017@unior.it. non dimenticate di compilare anche il submission form nella pagina della conferenza.
